Turn On, Tune In, Get Fit: The Midlife Woman's Easy Guide to Exercising and Eating for a Healthier Future

First…here’s my new eBook, available, for now, on Amazon. (More later!) Woohoo!

It’s for beginners. For women who have no experience using weights. This is a simple routine you can do at home, with only a pair or two of dumbbells.

Write me if you buy it and have any questions about the exercises.

Now…why I love weights.

It has always been my time just for me.

Honestly, it’s meditative. And great for stress reduction.

(More people should know that!)

Experienced weight trainers talk about the mind-muscle connection.

That’s when you’re working out and you put your mind into the muscle you’re working. So if it’s a biceps curl, you make sure the biceps are stretching and contracting throughout the movement.

How meditative is that?

You’re not thinking about your bills, your deadlines, your chores, or your loved ones and their needs.

Sure. You may, after a few seconds, think, “Ooo, hurts.” But that just kind of hits you.

Just work out

You know, I’ve been seeing the exhortation recently to “just be.” Hmm. It made me think, how often do most of us take time to “just be?”

Not to “do.” Just to “be.”

I think you can do that working out.

Certainly, you have to get to a point where you’re comfortable with the weights. And with your body going through the movement.

But get there and you can get into your “zone.” It’s something close to meditation. Except you don’t have to sit still. Good for people like me who have trouble with that.
